agmsg
agmsg is an MIT-licensed messaging layer for CLI coding agents. Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI, GitHub Copilot CLI, Antigravity, OpenCode and other agents join a named team and send each other messages through a shared local SQLite database, so you stop copying output from one agent into another. The README shows Claude Code asking Codex for a code review and getting the answer back over agmsg.
It deliberately stays small: no MCP server, no broker and no daemon, just bash and sqlite3. Sending appends a row; each agent reads incoming messages through a hook or a Monitor stream depending on the delivery mode, and Claude Code and Codex default to real-time push. The store is WAL-mode SQLite and keeps history after sessions end, so an old room can be replayed into a fresh agent. Install with npx agmsg, the Claude Code plugin marketplace or a git clone; a self-hosted reference server and an optional resident agmsgd service exist for cross-machine setups.
