claudian
Claudian is an Obsidian plugin that embeds AI coding agents, including Claude Code, Codex CLI, Grok Build, OpenCode and Pi, inside your vault. The vault becomes the agent's working directory, so the agent can read, write and search your notes, run commands and use its usual tools, all from a chat panel inside Obsidian.
It suits Obsidian users who keep research, writing or project notes in a vault and want an agent to work on them directly: reorganising notes, drafting and editing documents, summarising folders or maintaining a knowledge base. Inline edit lets you select text and edit it in place with a word-level diff preview; slash commands and skills provide reusable templates; @mentions reference files, folders or other sessions; a side chat explores ideas without disturbing the main conversation; and tabs and a session manager keep several conversations organised. MCP servers are configured through each agent's own CLI.
Getting started: install at least one supported agent (for example Claude Code or Codex CLI), then in Obsidian go to Settings → Community plugins → Browse, search for "Claudian", install and enable it.
