JobSpy

Active·★ 4.6k·MIT·Updated 2026-10-27

JobSpy is a Python library for collecting job postings. A single scrape_jobs() call queries LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, ZipRecruiter, Google, Bayt, Naukri, BDJobs and HelloWork concurrently and returns one pandas DataFrame with title, company, location, job type, salary range, URL and description. Filters cover search term, location and distance, job type, remote, easy-apply and how many hours old a posting is.

Beyond the library it now installs a jobspy command that streams one JSON line per job, which suits shell pipelines, and an MCP server, mcp-jobspy, that runs with uvx so an AI assistant can search listings directly. Proxies rotate round-robin per board, with SOCKS support on LinkedIn, Indeed and BDJobs.

Scraping job boards depends on their markup and blocking behavior, so results vary by site: some boards need fetch_description for full text, Glassdoor filters by whole days, and heavy use needs proxies. Check each board's terms before collecting at scale.

This write-up is based on the project's README and public repository data. We have not hand-tested the tool. Data as of 2026-10-23.

Features

01One scrape_jobs() call queries up to nine job boards concurrently and merges the results into a DataFrame
02Filters for location, distance, job type, remote, easy-apply and posting age in hours
03Round-robin proxy support, including SOCKS proxies for LinkedIn, Indeed and BDJobs
04A jobspy CLI that streams one JSON line per job to stdout for scripts
05mcp-jobspy MCP server, runnable with uvx mcp-jobspy@latest
02

Why choose it

+One call covers nine job boards and hands back a single DataFrame you can filter or export to CSV.
+Three ways in: Python library, a JSON-lines CLI for scripts, and an MCP server for AI assistants.
+Practical filters such as posting age in hours, remote and easy-apply, plus rotating proxy support.
03

Trade-offs

!Scrapers break when job boards change their pages or tighten blocking, so expect occasional gaps.
!Data completeness differs by board; full descriptions on some need an extra request per job.
!Large-scale collection may conflict with job boards' terms of service.
