Arcade MCP Server Framework is a Python framework from Arcade.dev for building MCP servers. The quick start is `uv tool install arcade-mcp`, then `arcade new my_server`, which generates a project with a `server.py` (an `MCPApp` plus example tools), a `pyproject.toml` and a `.env.example`. Tools are plain functions registered with `@app.tool`, with typed and annotated parameters.

Its main idea is credential handling. A tool can declare `requires_secrets` or `requires_auth` (the example uses Reddit OAuth with the `read` scope), and the framework injects the secret or OAuth token into the tool's context at runtime. The README's comments state that LLMs and MCP clients cannot see or access those secrets or tokens. Local OAuth needs the Arcade CLI and `arcade login`.

A server runs over stdio by default (for Claude Desktop and CLI tools) or HTTP (for Cursor and VS Code, with API docs at `/docs`). The README says tools needing auth or secrets work out of the box on stdio, but over HTTP only if the server is deployed with `arcade deploy` or added in the Arcade dashboard. `arcade configure claude|cursor|vscode` writes the client configuration.
