Kun

Kun is a desktop app for macOS, Windows and Linux where code, documents and agent conversations run on one local runtime. Sessions, memory, logs and settings stay on your machine; with a cloud model, only the context of each request goes to the provider you chose. The README is primarily in Chinese with an English version.

Code mode puts the project, terminal, Git and diffs in one place, with a Design canvas that carries prototypes into code. Work mode handles documents, papers and research material. You can chat privately or open group rooms with your personal agent, Codex, Claude Code and OpenCode. Extras include a plugin and skills market for MCP and Skills, reminders and scheduled tasks, phone remote control, and a terminal TUI that shares threads, plans and approvals with the GUI through kun serve.

Tools, directories and workspace permissions need approval by default, and memory or group chats do not widen permissions. Providers include presets for DeepSeek, Kimi, GLM, Qwen and Ollama, plus any OpenAI- or Anthropic-compatible endpoint. The license is PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0: learning, research and non-commercial use only, with commercial use requiring written permission.
