mcp-chrome
Chrome MCP Server is a Chrome extension-based MCP server that exposes your own Chrome browser to AI assistants such as Claude. Rather than launching a separate automation browser, it works inside the browser you already use, with your settings and logged-in sessions, and connects to MCP clients over Streamable HTTP through a small local bridge.
It suits people who want an assistant to work with what is already open in their browser: summarising and comparing tabs, searching across tab contents semantically, taking screenshots, monitoring network requests, interacting with pages, and managing bookmarks and history, among more than 20 tools. A built-in vector database powers semantic search over tab content, accelerated with WebAssembly SIMD. Everything runs locally, and a newer visual editor integrates with Claude Code and Codex.
Getting started: install the bridge with `npm install -g mcp-chrome-bridge`, load the Chrome extension from the project's releases, connect it, and add the server's Streamable HTTP endpoint to your MCP client following the README.
