- Name the problem first: context limits, unreliable output, repetitive setup, or running many agents.
- Prefer tools that are easy to remove. Anything that rewrites your Claude Code config should be reversible.
- Autonomous loops can burn tokens quickly; look for exit detection, rate limits and a circuit breaker.

Are autonomous loops safe to leave running?
Only with limits. Use tools that have exit detection, rate limits and a circuit breaker, set a budget, work on a branch, and review the result. An unattended agent can burn tokens or make unwanted changes.
