mcphub.nvim
MCP Hub is an MCP client for Neovim. It manages, tests and uses MCP servers from inside the editor and hands their capabilities to the chat plugin you already use. The README's feature table lists full support for tools, resources, resource templates and prompts, with live updates when those lists change; roots and sampling are not supported.
Servers can run locally over stdio or remotely over Streamable HTTP with SSE as a fallback, and remote servers can use OAuth with PKCE or header-based API keys. Chat integration covers Avante.nvim, CodeCompanion.nvim (including image responses) and CopilotChat.nvim, with MCP prompts exposed as slash commands. A marketplace lets you browse verified servers and install them manually or with AI help.
Configuration accepts JSON5, a universal `${}` syntax for environment variables and commands, and VS Code-style `servers` blocks, and project-local configs are merged with the global one. All Neovim instances share one hub, which can run as a systemd service. You can also write MCP servers directly in Lua. Our data shows the last push on 2026-01-18.
