lowdefy
Lowdefy is a web framework where you describe an app in YAML or JSON config instead of writing UI code. The README says you can build web UIs, connect to databases and APIs, and extend behavior with npm plugins. It is built on Next.js and Auth.js and targets internal tools, admin panels, BI dashboards, CRUD apps and websites.
An app is made of blocks (React components, over 70 provided), operators (more than 150 logic functions), actions (triggered by events such as a click or page load) and requests (calls to databases and APIs; Lowdefy has no storage of its own). All of these can be extended with npm plugins. Auth.js provides SSO, SAML and 2FA, and role-based access control covers public and private pages. Because the config is plain text it can be reviewed in git.
To try it, run `pnpx lowdefy@latest init && pnpx lowdefy@latest dev`, which creates a `lowdefy.yaml` and starts a dev server on localhost:3000. It can be deployed anywhere Next.js runs, including Vercel or Docker. The README calls it "source available", and the repository lists Apache-2.0. This review is based on the README and repository data; we have not run it ourselves.
