whodb
WhoDB is a lightweight, self-hosted workspace for your databases: one place to explore data, edit it, run queries and understand how a schema fits together. It runs in the browser, is easy to self-host, and is also available as a desktop app and a terminal CLI. The README suggests it for inspecting a local database, helping a teammate explore unfamiliar data, or working without a heavyweight database client. The quickest start is `docker run --rm -it -p 8080:8080 clidey/whodb`, then open localhost:8080 and enter your connection details; there is also a live demo.
You can browse and edit data in a spreadsheet-style grid with sorting, filtering, pagination and inline editing, view the schema as an interactive graph of tables and relationships, work in a multi-cell query scratchpad with autocomplete and history, import and export data, generate mock data for development, and ask questions in plain English. AI features are optional and use a provider you choose (such as Ollama, OpenAI, Anthropic or LM Studio). The CLI includes an MCP server. The Community edition supports PostgreSQL, CockroachDB, YugabyteDB, QuestDB, MySQL, MariaDB, TiDB, SQLite, DuckDB, MongoDB, FerretDB, Redis, Valkey, Dragonfly, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, ClickHouse and Memcached. It is Apache-2.0 licensed.
