CowAgent (formerly chatgpt-on-wechat)
CowAgent, formerly known as chatgpt-on-wechat, has grown from a popular WeChat chatbot into an open-source personal AI assistant and agent harness. Messages arrive through channels, an agent core plans and reasons using memory, a personal knowledge base, tools and skills, and the model of your choice generates the response. It can proactively plan tasks, control your computer and external services, and create and run skills.
It suits individuals and small teams, especially in China, who want an always-on assistant reachable from the messaging apps they already use. A single instance can serve the web console, WeChat, Feishu/Lark, DingTalk, WeCom, QQ, WeChat Official Accounts, Telegram, Slack and Discord in parallel, with text, images, files and voice on most channels. Skills can be installed from its Skill Hub, GitHub or ClawHub, or created through conversation; agent teams give each agent its own memory, knowledge and workspace; and it supports all major model providers.
Getting started: use the one-line installer or Docker Compose, then open the web console at http://localhost:9899 to configure models, connect channels and install skills. The `cow` CLI manages the service, skills and optional browser automation.
