gitlab-mcp
@zereight/mcp-gitlab is a community MCP server that exposes GitLab to coding agents: projects, merge requests, issues, pipelines, wikis, releases, tags and milestones. It installs from npm or Homebrew and the README has setup commands for Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, VS Code and JSON-configured clients.
It ships 276 tools but groups them into toolsets, so an agent can start small and activate more at runtime, with `discover_tools` and `execute_graphql` for anything not covered. Merge request review is split into two steps, listing changed files and then fetching batched diffs, and an optional JMESPath parameter trims large JSON results.
Authentication covers personal access tokens, a local OAuth2 browser flow, an MCP OAuth proxy and per-request remote authorization, and a read-only mode is available. It runs over stdio, SSE or Streamable HTTP and works with self-hosted GitLab and proxies. The README's own comparison positions it against GitLab's official MCP server and another community server.
