ableton-mcp
AbletonMCP connects Ableton Live to Claude and other MCP clients and gives them two-way control over a Live session. The README lists creating, modifying and deleting MIDI and audio tracks, loading instruments, effects and sounds from Ableton's browser, creating and editing MIDI clips with full note control, building a whole song in Arrangement View (intro, buildup, drop, breakdown, outro), controlling playback and clips in Session and Arrangement View, and setting tempo, device parameters and mixer settings.
It has two parts. A Remote Script installed inside Ableton opens a local TCP socket on localhost:9000 and listens for JSON commands, and a Python MCP server connects to that socket and exposes the commands as MCP tools. Prerequisites are Ableton Live 10 or newer, Python 3.8 or newer and the uv package manager; installation covers the MCP server, the Remote Script and the client config, and the project is published on PyPI and also installable through Smithery. The README discloses anonymous telemetry (which tools are called, session activity and error rates, with no project data) and says it can be turned off with the ABLETON_MCP_DISABLE_TELEMETRY environment variable. It is MIT licensed.
