This MCP server connects to a Kubernetes cluster and manages it, loading kubeconfig from multiple sources in priority order. The README lists a unified kubectl API (get, describe, create, apply, delete, logs, context, scale, patch, rollout and a generic command), port forwarding, Helm install, upgrade and uninstall with custom values and repositories, template-based Helm tools to bypass authentication issues, pod cleanup for states such as Evicted and CrashLoopBackOff, and node cordon, drain and uncordon. A `k8s-diagnose` prompt walks through systematic pod troubleshooting, and there is a non-destructive mode for read and create/update-only use.

Prerequisites are `kubectl` on your PATH, a valid kubeconfig, access to a cluster (minikube, GKE, Rancher Desktop and so on) and optionally Helm v3. Setup is one line per client, for example `claude mcp add kubernetes -- npx mcp-server-kubernetes` for Claude Code or `codex mcp add kubernetes -- npx mcp-server-kubernetes` for Codex, with instructions for Claude Desktop (including an mcpb connector), VS Code and Cursor. An observability section covers tracking what the server does. It is MIT licensed.
