This MCP server connects AI assistants to Slack workspaces over Stdio, SSE or HTTP transports, with proxy settings. Its README lists channel and thread support with `#name` and `@user` lookup, DMs and group DMs, smart history fetch by date range or message count, unread messages across channels with priority sorting, search, reactions, user group management and enterprise workspace support. Tools include `conversations_history`, `conversations_replies`, `conversations_search_messages`, `channels_list`, `users_search` and more. Posting messages through `conversations_add_message` is disabled by default and can be enabled by environment variable with optional channel restrictions.

Authentication has several modes. A stealth mode needs no bot installation or extra permissions and uses the browser session tokens (`xoxc` and the `xoxd` cookie), an OAuth user token (`xoxp`) is the alternative, and a bot token (`xoxb`) works with limited access (invited channels only, no search). Setup is covered in three docs: authentication, installation, and configuration and usage. The README's security section only says never to share tokens and to keep `.env` files private, and it states that this is not an official Slack product. It is MIT licensed.

This write-up is based on the project's README and public repository data. We have not hand-tested the tool. Data as of 2026-10-11.
