KiroCrew
Kiro Crew is an open-source development workspace from the team behind the Kiro IDE. It runs on your Mac, in a container or on a remote host, and a Gateway process keeps sessions, memory, schedules and task checkpoints alive across restarts, so work continues when the chat window closes. The same session can be picked up from the desktop app, a web dashboard, the CLI, or Slack and Discord.
Its distinguishing ideas are self-learning and self-evolving: corrections and task failures become durable lessons (global or limited to one repository with repo_scope), and repeated patterns are synthesised into skills you can inspect and edit. Long-running tasks are planned, validated, retried and resumed from checkpoints, and scheduled jobs, heartbeats and authenticated webhooks cover unattended work. MCP servers, markdown skills and hooks extend it without touching the core.
The default agent runs on kiro-cli, which you install and sign in to separately, so in practice it builds on a Kiro account. Security controls include tool approvals, OS sandboxing, sensitive-path checks, credential redaction and audit events. It ships as desktop builds on stable, insider and nightly channels, a one-line CLI installer and a Docker image. License is Apache-2.0.
