Mysti is a VS Code extension that wraps AI coding CLIs in one chat panel. You choose among Claude Code, Codex, Gemini and, since v0.2.2, GitHub Copilot CLI, which the README says gives access to 14+ models from Anthropic, OpenAI and Google through a Copilot subscription. Switching providers is one click. Its distinctive feature is Brainstorm Mode, where any two of the AIs collaborate and debate a solution, on the idea that several agents can outperform one.

Other features in the README include 16 developer personas such as Architect, Debugger, Security-Minded, Performance Tuner, Prototyper and Refactorer, selectable from the toolbar with automatic suggestions based on your message. There are permission levels from read-only to full access, token budget settings, saved conversation history, one-click quick actions, and friendlier errors when a provider is not authenticated.

Guides

Install with `ext install DeepMyst.mysti` or from the VS Code Marketplace, then install at least one provider CLI yourself (for example `npm install -g @anthropic-ai/claude-code` and `claude auth login`). Mysti uses those CLIs and their accounts, so you pay whichever providers you use. Licence is MIT, covering commercial use, and the last push was 2026-10-13. This review is based on the README and repository data; we have not run it ourselves.
