hacker-podcast
Hacker Podcast is a project that turns Hacker News into a Chinese-language podcast every day. According to the README it fetches the day's top articles, uses an AI model to summarize the articles and their comments, converts the text to speech, and publishes the result as a web page and an RSS feed for podcast apps, with article summaries and the full script available. A disclaimer notes that the project is not affiliated with Hacker News or Y Combinator.
It is also a compact example of an AI content pipeline on Cloudflare. A Worker fetches data and processes audio, using R2 for files, KV for state, Cloudflare Workflows and browser rendering (needed to merge audio, so it cannot run locally and must be debugged remotely). A Next.js web app, adapted with OpenNext for Cloudflare, shows the content and serves RSS. Configuration uses an OpenAI-compatible endpoint with `OPENAI_API_KEY`, `OPENAI_BASE_URL` and `OPENAI_MODEL`; the README warns that Edge TTS conversion can hang during local runs. Deployment means creating an R2 bucket and KV namespace, editing `wrangler.json` and setting secrets with `wrangler`. The README is in Chinese, and no license is declared.
