evolver
Evolver is the engine behind EvoMap, aimed at turning ad hoc prompt tweaks into auditable, reusable evolution assets. The README is explicit that it is a prompt generator, not a code patcher: each cycle scans a memory directory for logs and error signals, selects the best-matching Gene or Capsule from a local GEP asset store, prints a protocol-bound prompt, and records an EvolutionEvent for audit.
Install is npm install -g @evomap/evolver, then run evolver inside a git repository; git is required for rollback and blast-radius calculation. There is a review mode that pauses for confirmation, a background loop, and strategy presets (balanced, innovate, harden, repair-only). setup-hooks wires it into Cursor, Claude Code, Codex and Kiro, and an optional EvoMap hub adds skill sharing and leaderboards; core use is offline.
The README cites an arXiv paper arguing that compact Genes beat documentation-style skills as a carrier of experience. It also documents a security model: validation commands are limited to node, npm and npx with shell operators rejected. Licensing is changing: past releases are MIT or GPL-3.0, but the maintainers announced future releases will move to source-available.
