career-ops
career-ops is an open-source job-search system that runs inside an AI coding CLI you already have, such as Claude Code, Codex, Qwen, OpenCode or Grok Build. You paste a job; it checks the posting is still live, scores it 1-5 against your real CV with per-requirement weighting, and tells you to skip a weak fit, a recommendation you can override. When a role is worth it, it drafts an ATS-readable CV, a cover letter, application-field answers and outreach notes.
The design is deliberately human-in-the-loop and local-first. It never submits an application and never sends email; the README states there is no mail transport in the codebase, no telemetry and no backend of theirs, so your CV goes only from your machine to the AI provider you chose. A code check blocks a generated PDF whose facts appear in neither your CV nor your article digest, though the authors note it cannot judge every rewording, so you are told to read every CV before sending.
Beyond evaluation it includes a portal scanner with 100+ preconfigured companies across Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever and Wellfound, an interview story bank, negotiation scripts, offer-stage contract review, a salary-gap analyzer, repost and ghost-job detection, and a terminal dashboard. Opt-in plugins (Gmail, Notion, Apify) are disabled by default. Install is one npx @santifer/career-ops init, then run it from your AI CLI.
