fusio
Fusio is an open-source, self-hosted API management platform and gateway. The README says it bridges internal infrastructure and the outside world: it can expose SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL and others) as REST APIs, route and load-balance traffic between microservices, and run custom API logic written as reusable actions in PHP or JavaScript. On top of that it offers an automated developer portal, generated client SDKs, subscription plans and quotas for monetization, and analytics with usage, performance and error tracking.
For AI use, it advertises native Model Context Protocol support so that API logic can be turned into tools for autonomous agents, and AI-assisted generation of backend logic and schemas from natural-language prompts. It is not an agent framework; it is the API layer that agents or humans call.
Installation is by Docker (a docker-compose file with Fusio and MySQL, the backend at localhost:8080/apps/fusio) or manually: clone or download a release, set the `APP_CONNECTION` database URL in `.env` (MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQLite), run `php bin/fusio migrate`, create an administrator and install the backend app. The README warns the built-in PHP server is for testing only. The license is Apache-2.0 and the last push was 2026-10-07. This review is based on the README and repository data; we have not run it ourselves.
