skybridge
Skybridge is a full-stack TypeScript framework for building interactive widgets that appear inside AI conversations, for both ChatGPT Apps and MCP Apps. The README says the raw SDKs are low-level, with no hooks, type safety, dev tools or hot reload, and positions Skybridge as the layer that adds them: a full dev environment (Vite HMR, debug traces and a local devtools emulator), tRPC-style type inference from server to widget, React Query-style hooks with `isPending` and `isError`, widget-to-tool calls, and `data-llm` to keep the model aware of what the user sees.
It has two modules: `skybridge/server`, which extends the MCP SDK so you define tools and widgets with full type inference (`server.registerWidget(...)` with a Zod input schema), and `skybridge/web`, which provides React hooks such as `useToolInfo` that consume the server's types. Start a new project with `npm create skybridge@latest`, or add it with `npm i skybridge` (yarn, pnpm, bun and deno work too). It works with ChatGPT through the Apps SDK and with MCP Apps clients such as Goose and VS Code, and the README links production-style showcase examples. It is MIT licensed.
